The October Crisis of 1970 (1974)

A film retracing the extraordinary events that marked autumn 1970 in Quebec. The camera follows the people and events of the major socio-political quagmire that ensued when two men are kidnapped.
The mass media are in shock, with one breaking news report after another. James R. Cross: kidnapped. Pierre Laporte, Labour Minister: kidnapped. The Front de liberation du Québec (FLQ) claims responsibility for the biggest plot ever attempted by a terrorist group in North America. The counterattack from federal authorities is equally fierce: Montreal is stormed by the military, with citizens arrested en masse. For some, the aftermath would be tragic.
