Wednesday 10 June : Rock the Casbah at La Comète
As a foretaste of the festival, La Comète will be screening ROCK THE CASBAH de Yariv Horowitz that will be followed by the documentary LES BULLES : LE NOUVEAU CINÉMA ISRAÉLIEN
   

After Jean-Baptiste Thoret and Olivier Broche, who came in April to present  The Good, The Bad and The Ugly by Sergio Leone, it is now the turn of Stéphane Bergouhnioux, another film programmer of War On Screen, to present a session as a foretaste of the festival, dedicated this time to Israeli cinema. 


Wednesday 10 June at 7:30 PM, don't miss the screening of  Rock the Casbah, followed by the documentary Les Bulles, le nouveau cinéma israélien.

ROCK THE CASBAH

A film by Yariv Horowitz / 2012 / Israel/France / 1:28 / Drama. With Yon Tomarkin and Roy Nik


1989. First Intifada. Israeli soldiers are sent to Gaza to oversee the Arab population. During a routine patrol, one of them gets killed by a washing maching thrown from on of the village's houses.
Four your soldiers are then stationed on the roof top of a Palestinian family to keep a close watch on the neighbourhood and find the responsible persons. The rookies will have to find their place in the chaos surrounding them.
